The starting point for the provision of method concepts is a component to be manufactured/ a functional component/ development component. Based on this, the development of an add-on design for forming production takes place. Depending on the complexity, different forming and cutting stages result within the method concept, whereby the first stage usually represents the primary forming stage (deep drawing). The active surfaces and cutting contours developed during this process can be made available in neutral interface formats for further use.
It is often sufficient to validate manufacturability by demonstrating that the primary forming stage, i.e. deep drawing, does not present any problems in terms of cracks, sheet thinning or wrinkling. This means that not all process steps necessarily have to be developed, which then significantly reduces the order volume. The focus and resulting scope can be discussed in coordination meetings.
